The balanced version is recommended to be used by Byuu Et Al as it's known to be the Compatibility version before the update past v0.92. The program along with this does feature a very useful feature such as bsnes which features 3 different profiles including Performance, Balanced and Accuracy. The program does copy every ROM you upload with it into a folder of it's old called "Emulation" you, however, can configure this to whatever you would like and them the games would be stored alongside in the folder. It also can run all commercial SNES titles that have ever been released as it supports well over 10 systems for emulating.

But with that being said it's a multi-system emulator that is good for supporting things automatically and accurately. I would recommend configuring the controls to be default.

One of the biggest cons though of the Higan program would be the interface as it's not the most user-friendly. Higan is a Windows program that allows users to emulate consoles on their computer and the Higan program supports numerous of emulators including NES, Super Game Boy, Game Boy Color / Advance, Bandai WonderSwan/Color, Sega Master Drive and System along with the NEC PC Engine and the SuperGrafx.
